英国essay代写-The warming trend slow down

Although a greenhouse gas emission is still accelerating, the global surface temperature and the warming trend slow down or even stagnant in recent 15 years (Tollefson, 2013, Cook, 2016, & Schiermeier, 2013). This phenomenon is called as hiatus.

However, when people examine changes in atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations, it can be found that since the industrial revolution (1750), the atmospheric CO2 concentration sustained a linear growth. It is possible to detect that changes in trends in the global temperature, is not completely under the influence and control of atmospheric carbon dioxide. People try to find answers from oceans, which occupy 70% of the area of the Earth, and has the great capacity of heat absorption. Thus, cooling in the tropical Pacific Ocean may be the cause of the global warming hiatus, which buries the heat from the atmosphere (Tollefson, 2013). It continues to absorb heat from the Earth's climate system. Someone holds that the occurrence of hiatus is just a natural fluctuation ( Schiermeier, 2013). There are reasons to believe that in the future, there will be more hiatus as there is a lot of natural fluctuation in the climate system. In addition, another explanation related the hiatus to the changing aerosol emissions from human activity as aerosol has a cooling effect on global climate. If this is true, hiatus will be predictable and can be controlled by the human production of aerosol emissions. Thus, hiatus will occur again in the future if those two explanations are proven to be true.

At the same time, there are voices of authorities to question the existence of hiatus.  According to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration researchers, the so-called hiatus has never existed over the past 15 years after a reanalysis of current data (Lavelle, 2015). Harvard science historian Oreskes and a colleague of him also hold the same opinion. If this idea proves to be valid, the future occurrence of hiatus will be a false proposition.

To sum up, the central issue around whether hiatus could occur again is the mechanism and reasons of it or even whether hiatus has ever existed.

Feedback of lecture 5

- what was the most interesting aspect of the lecture to you?

The picture to show the forming process of the greenhouse effect is very vivid and interesting to me. I understand the role of sun, aerosols, and space immediately. Another aspect of interest to me is the benefits of greenhouse. Before this lecture, I was always thinking that greenhouse has no benefits to human beings and the earth. But I realized until now, that without it, the earth will be too cold for human beings to inhabit on it. Also, the existence of some model such as Stephan-Boltzmann’s Law to calculate the Radiation emitted and absorbed by Earth and Atmosphere got me amazed at the intelligence of some scientists.

- was the level of the lecture appropriate too hard or too easy?

Overall, the level of the lecture was a little too hard to me. I can basically figure out the mechanism of greenhouse effect. But there were too much mathematic models, computation and statistics. So, I find those pie and line chart a little hard to understand with those very difficult terms, statistics methods and so many statistics in one chart. Also, the Stephan-Boltzmann’s Law involved a lot of rather professional signs and equations. It required me to have some mathematic background and spend more time and effort to study it in a systematic way.

Feedback of lecture 6

- what was the most interesting aspect of the lecture to you?

The most interesting aspect of the lecture to me was the water cycle. As a child, I have been told the magical and long process that a drop of water will experience. But it was just story. This lecture made me to have a very scientific understanding of the process. I learned about the water cycle is huge and complex system:Groundwater Cycle, evaporation, transportation and precipitation and different volume of transported water varying with source of evaporation.  I understood for the first time how much influence one 1 degree Increase in Temperature will have a huge impact on the precipitation.

- was the level of the lecture appropriate too hard or too easy?

I find that for me, the level of the lecture is appropriate. The lecture of Atmospheric Circula1on, Water Cycle and Changes is not very abstract. And sometimes, I can compare what I learned with daily experience. I noticed that there are a lot of pictures with some phrases to show the interaction process of atmospheric Circula1on,Water Cycle and Changes . I found that those pictures were very vivid in demonstrating process. But I just thought that it helps me to understand better if there are some interpretations of pictures, in the form of words, besides them.

Feedback of lecture 7

- what was the most interesting aspect of the lecture to you?

The most interesting aspect of the lecture to me was the paradox of aerosols. On the one hand, it is regarded as one main pollutant in the atmosphere. On the other hand, it has the cooling effect of the global warming, a problem that trouble the human beings a lot currently. I also learned a scientific method of looking at the properties of one substance. It is advised to analyze it from the flowing aspects: the material, the phrase, the size, morphology. This is quite an interesting logic and thinking method to me.  and it is also interesting for me to realized clearly how human activities can influence the nature. For example, Aerosols change cloud radiative properties and Aerosols modify cloud formation and lifetime.

- was the level of the lecture appropriate too hard or too easy?

The level of the lecture is appropriate to me. There were not too much mathematic models, computation and statistics. The majority of the content was limited to the account in the form words. In addition, another reason is due to the small topic:  the whole lecture is just concentrated on Aerosols and its relevance with Global Pollution. I found that those pictures were very vivid in demonstrating Radiative Forcing Components in a very clear manner.

Feedback of lecture 8

- what was the most interesting aspect of the lecture to you?

The most interesting aspect of the lecture--- Ocean Circulation and

Acidification to me was so many possible Shifts in current patterns brought by the global warming. This includes Shift in upwelling, intensity of circulation, and timing of circulation. Also, the global warming also cause the change and increase in the Ocean heat content. Based on the line chart, it shows a rapid increase of heat increase since 1997. It reminded me of the former essay on the absorption of heat by the sea. It was discussed as one of the possible reasons for the hiatus of global warming. This tells me once again the link and interaction between the components of nature.

- was the level of the lecture appropriate too hard or too easy?

I find that for me, the level of the lecture is appropriate. As I have done some studies about the relationship between Ocean Circulation and the global warming in the former essay. So it is a lot easier for me to understand the last part of this lecture on relationship between Ocean Circulation and the global warming. Also, I get more and more familiar with the line chart after a couple of lectures. So, the former lectures with some pie and line chart also prepared me studies and make them easier for me.
