The United State of America is a country with quite a long history to tell. And History this word under the general sense is usually referred to as the history of the colonial time, when the British men started to build up their colonial zones in this newly found continent. However, the real history of the America colonies is insufficient to summarize with this simple period.

Whenever people talk about the birth of America, the discovery of the new continent is always a compulsory element. Christopher Columbus mistakenly named the natives as India while later in the year 1507 the land was named after Amerigo Verpucci. What’s more, the voyage of discovery synchronized with the emergence of capitalist economy across the ocean in the European land. The first European contact took place in 1494, when the Spaniard seized the initiative under the sign of the Treaty of Tordesillas. The Protuguese also got a slice of the cake under the name of the same treaty. Their actions were followed by the Frenchmen. After witnessing the rise of its neighbor by exploring the newly found land, the British men finally started to participate under the great pressure of the domestic situation in 1585. Pioneered by the famous Virginia Company, the British men built in all in succession 13 colonies, taking advantage of the Protestant Reformation and the development of Calvinism retrieved the situation of starting late and the lag of the proportion. What’s more, the major of the New England Colonies made up of Puritan---after the Mayflower Compact put into use, there came the great Puritan migration, among them are John Winthrop included. Along with his famous speech of The Model of the Christian Charity, a speech cited the City upon a Hill. In this paragraph Winthrop shredded the light of the sense of mission of building up a country with devotion. In this way were the people there gathered together, Winthrop explains how God chose the few people on the boats to go to America in order to carry out their mission. He also mentions how the rest of the world will watch them. This elevates the importance of America and the people going to America. [1] And it is also hard for one to deny that the establishment of the USA is based on such spirit of devotion and sense of mission.

In the late half of the 1700s, all of the 13 colonies were then governed by governors sent by UK. At this point of time, a large amount of plantations were developed, initial prosperity had been reached as the textile, quarrying and iron-making industries had a rapid accumulation of wealth. Meanwhile across the Atlantic in the land of the United Kingdom, the government began to push quite few pressing and cruel exploitation policies in order to increase fiscal revenue and lessen the burdens brought by the Seven Year’s War against France. In 1765, the government put the stamp tax into force, and inevitably the stamp tax encountered some violent opposition. All kinds of anti-British events occurred and organizations were found all over the place, putting the British government into same of panic. Military forces and troops were sent to counterattack and quelled the unrest. In 5th March 1770, the troop opened fire to the unarmed citizens, leading 5 citizens killed and 6 badly injured. This malignant event was later referred to as the Boston Massacre. It enraged the angry residents, even the abrogation of the stamp tax couldn’t help with the smoldering angry of the whole town. Three years later in 1773, three anti-british organization members disguised as India natives and somehow got onboard the Boston tea clipper Dartmouth. There they dumped all the cargos onboard in order to rebuke the UK government for taxing glasses and tea. However, the British government took it as a provocation and soon published the five Coercive Acts in the year, which directly led to the holding of the First Continental Congress in Philadelphia. In this conference was George Washington pointed of the general. The colonizers tried to present a petition to the royal household but received no effective answer. The contradiction between the colonizers and the UK government eventually led to the outbreak of the American Revolution. In 19th April 1775, the Lexington’s Shots opened a prelude to it, after the second continental conference, the determination was made by the colonizers to fight for independence with violence. Two months later, in 4th June published the Declaration of Independence.

The existence of the United States was reckoned from the Declaration of Independence, but the form of the nation has been an established fact long before the outbreak of the war. And the rationales behind this are easy to comprehend. The America Colonies developed Capitalist economy, it has just preliminary began to take off and a unified market has formed. It is an irresistible momentum while the UK government violently suppressed it. What’s more, after a long period of colonizing, the colonizers have gone through so many miseries and catastrophes. They conquered a wild land with their strong inside and tough bodies and put all their effort into the devotion to the land they built up by themselves. No matter where they were born and where they came from, an unbreakable alliance had been built and the spirit of freedom has rooted deep inside their mind. Just as General Gage wrote to the Secretary at War in London: These people show a spirit and conduct against us they never showed against the French….They are now spirited up by a rage and enthusiasm as great as ever people were possessed of and you must proceed in earnest or give the business up. A small body acting in one spot will not avail, you must have large armies making diversions on different sides, to divide their force. The loss we have sustained is greater than we can bear. Small armies cannot afford such losses, especially when the advantage gained tends to do little more than the gaining of a post. [2] A nation of American people was born. As long as there were missions to protect their home and land, they would proceed without hesitation. Not to mention the great pressure the British men put on them to force them fight. The independence of the United States of America was a corollary of justice and a trend of American capitalist with all of the nation’s people’s active participation as well as the international supports. A model of bourgeois revolution was set, which also gave strength to all other nations in the world to fight for their freedom and rights.
